Dr. Cha received his undergraduate degree at Harvard College and his MD/PhD (Neuroscience) at the University of Michigan. He completed residency in Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital where he remained as faculty, reaching the rank of Associate Professor at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He was the course co-director for the Neurobiology of Disease course at Harvard Medical School. His clinical specialties are Memory Disorders and Movement Disorders, with special attention to Huntington’s disease. His NIH-supported laboratory studied molecular mechanisms of Huntington’s disease. His laboratory made pioneering observations regarding transcriptional. Dr. Cha has served on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Hereditary Disease Foundation, and has served the Chairman of the HDSA Board of Trustees. At Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, Dr. Cha oversees early clinical drug development in Neuroscience, supervising a team that performs human clinical trials from First in Human through Proof of Concept.
